Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting roadmap for the first year of post-launch content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising a range of new features and updates to keep players engaged throughout 2025. In a concise yet informative four-and-a-half-minute video, Ubisoft detailed its plans, particularly focusing on the months of May and June, to ensure fans remain captivated with regular free updates.

The rollout of new content kicks off in early May with The Works of Luis Frois, the first of several free story add-ons. This update will be accompanied by a Codex update and various quality-of-life enhancements. Players can also look forward to significant parkour additions and a photo mode update in the following month. Ubisoft emphasizes its commitment to community feedback, with community developer Daniel St. Germain stating, "Your feedback has been a core focus of the team throughout development, and that’s not stopping now that Shadows is released. Regular title updates are coming, each with impactful additions – and changes – based on your feedback and requests, with some bug fixes to continue refining the experience across all platforms."
In June, players can expect another free story drop, along with more challenging difficulty settings, enhanced gameplay immersion options, an open-world alarm system, and the ability to toggle headgear visibility during cutscenes. These updates are just the beginning, as Ubisoft plans to introduce new game+ support, additional story content, special collaborations, and more before the year ends.
The highlight of the post-launch roadmap is the Claws of Awaji DLC expansion, set to release later in the year. This expansion promises a 10-hour journey featuring new content, including the Bo staff weapon and a new region for protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to explore. While pricing details are yet to be announced, the expansion will be free for those who pre-ordered Assassin’s Creed Shadows before its launch last month.
