Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer
If you’re a seasoned Archer, feel free to skip ahead. But if you’re new to the class, read on. As an Archer, your primary strategy is to stay a safe distance from enemies and let your arrows do the talking. While Archers deal significant damage, they lack strong defensive capabilities.

Archers wear Medium armor, offering a balance between durability and mobility. Unlike Light armor-wearing classes like Magicians or Priests, Archers don’t have protective spells or heavy armor to shield them. Instead, they rely on other players and their Pets to absorb damage.
Pets are the lifeblood of every Archer. Initially, your pet options may be limited, but as you progress, Archers gain access to exclusive pets unavailable to other classes. This versatility makes Archers one of the most powerful classes in the game.
How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer
At Level 30, all classes, including Archers, choose a subclass. Archers can specialize as either a Sharpshooter or a Beast Tamer. If you want to unlock the full potential of your Archer, choose Beast Tamer immediately upon reaching Level 30.

Currently, there’s no reason to go with Sharpshooter. While shooting multiple arrows at once sounds impressive, you’d miss out on the greatest advantage of the Beast Tamer: the Alpha Predator passive ability. This ability allows you to tame powerful creatures like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and even Mud Crabs—creatures no other class can handle. Thanks to their superior pets, Beast Tamers can solo many group activities with ease.

As you approach max level, a solid starter set is the Elder set paired with additional equipment. For your weapon, aim for the Troll Tusk Bow, which sometimes drops from the Hill Troll.
