For word game enthusiasts, Codenames needs no introduction. This popular board game, pitting spies against each other, is now available as a mobile app from CGE Digital, based on the original design by Vlaada Chvátil.
What is Codenames?
Codenames is a multiplayer game where teams compete to identify their secret agents hidden behind code names. Using one-word clues from your spymaster, you must deduce the correct words, avoiding civilian bystanders and, crucially, the assassin. The game tests your ability to decipher subtle connections and outwit your opponents.
The digital version enhances the experience with new words, game modes, and unlockable achievements. A career mode allows you to level up, earn rewards, and unlock special gadgets. The asynchronous multiplayer feature lets you play multiple games concurrently, challenge global opponents, and enjoy daily solo challenges. Players have up to 24 hours per turn.

The gameplay involves tapping cards on a grid to reveal your agents. Correct guesses reveal agents; selecting the assassin results in an immediate loss. Managing multiple games adds to the challenge, but mastering the game eventually allows you to take on the role of the clue-giving spymaster.
