Among Us 3D Release Updates
Coming May 6
Among Us 3D's release date has been officially announced by developer Schell Games and publisher Innersloth. The game is set to launch on May 6, 2025, as shared on the official Among Us 3D Twitter (X) account on April 16.
Originally titled Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more expansive experience with cross-play multiplayer. This week, the developers also introduced a new currency called Stardust, which offers players greater flexibility and never expires.
Among Us 3D will feature a permanent Tag Mode with an Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and an array of new cosmetics.
To clarify, the original Among Us VR, released in 2022, and the upcoming Among Us 3D are distinct games, and there will be no cross-play between them. According to the FAQs on Schell Games’ website, Among Us 3D is designed as a completely different game. The developers stated, "Separating the versions during development allowed us to continue providing quality updates to our Among Us VR players while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC audience."
Wishlist Campaign
Among Us 3D is now available for wishlisting on Steam, accompanied by the Powered By Wishlists Challenge campaign from Schell Games. Fans can unlock various in-game rewards by reaching specific milestones:
- 333,333 Wishlists - Unlock a New Hat
- 444,444 Wishlists - Gain Another New Hat
- 555,555 Wishlists - Receive a Cosmetic Surprise
- 777,777 Wishlists - Earn Suspiciously New Exciting Cosmetic(s)
While the rewards for the final two milestones are yet to be detailed, fans can anticipate some fantastic loot to kickstart their journey as crewmates. Among Us 3D is slated for release on PC on May 6, 2025.
