Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In a departure from the norm for both the series and Ubisoft's usual practices, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch with a unified release date across all platforms, with no option for early access through additional payment.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S at 12am local time on March 20. However, PC players should note that release times vary depending on the platform: Steam or Ubisoft's own Ubi Connect. Pre-loading is already available on Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC, ensuring players can jump right into the action as soon as the game goes live.
The release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows comes at a critical time for Ubisoft, following a series of delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws. The company has faced significant challenges, including high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this launch. The pressure is on for Assassin’s Creed Shadows to perform well.
