Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is slated for a broader retail release in March 2025, as announced via their official Twitter (X) account. This expansion means Alarmo will be available at major retailers globally, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers. A key change is the removal of the Nintendo Online membership requirement, making it accessible to all. The device will retail at $99.99 USD.
The initial release saw unexpectedly high demand, leading to immediate sell-outs and a lottery system implemented in Japan to manage distribution. Even in New York City, Alarmo quickly sold out, prompting assurances from retailers of future stock replenishment.
Alarmo's popularity overshadows, for now, the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 announcement. While speculation surrounding the new console remains high, Nintendo has yet to provide any official details.

Alarmo boasts a unique interactive experience, incorporating sound effects and visuals from popular Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Currently featuring 42 selectable scenes with more planned as free updates (including Animal Crossing: New Horizons), the alarm's gentle wake-up system involves game characters and escalating "visitors" to encourage getting out of bed. A motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device.
Beyond the core alarm function, Alarmo offers additional features like hourly chimes, sleep sounds synchronized with the chosen scene, and sleep pattern tracking. A "Button Mode" is recommended for households with pets or multiple sleepers.
