Players can uncover hidden landmarks and fulfill various side objectives. Each region introduces different predators, such as muskellunge, barracuda, alligators, sperm whales, orcas, and other sharks, challenging the player. Additionally, each area features its own apex predator, which is larger and distinct in appearance from its species. These apex predators include a great barracuda, a shortfin mako, an American alligator, a great hammerhead, a great white, an orca, and an albino sperm whale. Conquering these formidable foes grants the player unique abilities.
The game world reacts dynamically. As the shark wreaks more havoc, human bounty hunters are deployed to pursue it. Successfully eliminating the lead hunters can alter the shark's path.
To thrive, the shark must hunt and consume other aquatic creatures, such as fish and turtles, to acquire essential nutrients, including proteins, fats, minerals, and rare mutagenics. Players can also target humans by causing chaos along the coast, demolishing yachts and ships, and dislodging people from jet skis.
