Japanese Mahjong is an engaging game played with the unique Japanese style rules. To play, you'll use the slider located at the bottom of the screen to select your tiles. Once you've made your choice, tap the slider to discard the selected tile.
The objective of Mahjong is to complete your hand with four Melds and one Pair. For instance, a valid hand might look like this: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4]. However, be aware that not all hands are valid if you use Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. Pay close attention when using 1 and 9 in Chi and Pon, as they may affect the validity of your hand.
In Japanese Mahjong, you need at least one valid hand to win. You can achieve this by spending 1,000 points to declare Reach. Remember, though, that you cannot declare Reach if you have already used Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. A closed hand, one that hasn't used these actions, can earn you higher points.
Understanding the concept of a Lost Hand is crucial. A Lost Hand occurs when you are Waiting to win, but cannot claim victory from another player's discard because you have already discarded a winning tile yourself. Even with a Lost Hand, you can still win by self-drawing the tile you need. The key strategy is to never let the other players Ron (win) with a tile you discard. Always try to reason out the other players' hands from their discards to secure your win.
