Marvel Rivals Players Have an Idea to Improve Proficiency Rewards

Marvel Rivals' Reward System Under Fire: Players Demand Easier Access to Nameplates

Players of Marvel Rivals are expressing frustration over the difficulty of obtaining nameplates without making in-app purchases. The current system, perceived as overly reliant on spending real money, has sparked significant debate within the community.

A recent Reddit post highlighted the issue, suggesting a simple yet effective solution: converting Lore Banners into nameplate rewards. This proposal stems from the observation that many players find Lore Banners less desirable than nameplates, which serve as a key method of player self-expression and differentiation. The scarcity of freely obtainable nameplates is a major point of contention.

The game's Proficiency system, which rewards players for mastering characters through gameplay, is also under scrutiny. Players argue that adding nameplates to the Proficiency rewards would be a logical and rewarding addition, providing a tangible representation of skill and dedication. Many commenters have called this a straightforward improvement, emphasizing the lackluster current Proficiency rewards. While sprays and other cosmetics are appreciated, nameplates are seen as a more significant and visible accomplishment.

Launched in December 2024, Marvel Rivals recently concluded its Season 0 and is now in the midst of Season 1, which introduced substantial content, including new characters (Sue Storm and Mister Fantastic), maps, and game modes. The addition of the Fantastic Four has significantly altered the game's meta. However, the ongoing debate around the reward system highlights a persistent concern among players. The Season 1 battle pass, while offering numerous skins, continues to feature limited and expensive nameplates. The expectation is that developers will address these concerns, potentially incorporating player suggestions for a more equitable and rewarding experience. Season 1 is scheduled to run until mid-April.
