Detention is a unique atmospheric horror game deeply rooted in Taiwanese and East Asian culture, drawing heavily on Taoist and Buddhist references. Set in the 1960s during Taiwan's martial law period, the game immerses players in a hauntingly atmospheric experience. Players navigate through a school plagued by supernatural occurrences using a simple point-and-click interface, uncovering the chilling stories behind its haunted walls.
The game intricately weaves elements of Taiwanese and Chinese mythology and religion, offering players a distinctive visual and gameplay experience. Detention earned the IndieCade 2017 award and was developed by Red Candle Games.
