In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players can embark on the "For Science!" side quest, a relatively short but rewarding mission. This guide outlines how to initiate and complete this quest.
Initiating "For Science!"
The quest begins at the Central Elevator in the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, Yaryk Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, requesting a meeting. Locate Mongoose on the first floor of the building (easily accessed by vaulting a railing). He'll explain the need to activate a second measuring device atop a nearby silo, initiating the quest.
Reaching the Silo's Summit
Ascend the building's stairs, dispatching any rodents encountered along the way. Exit through a broken window, descend a ladder, and navigate the walkway to the silos. Be prepared for electro anomalies; equipping a bolt-action weapon is advised. Proceed to the left along the silo's top to find and activate the second device.
Dealing with the Aftermath
Activating the device will attract Bloodsuckers. Players can choose to eliminate them or evade them to reach Mongoose.
Confronting Yaryk Mongoose
Upon confronting Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unforeseen consequences. Players can choose to kill Mongoose or accept his reward. Neither choice significantly impacts the game's progression. Choosing the non-hostile option yields the Malachite Pass and some additional rewards. The pass grants access to the STC Malachite facility, unless already accessible via the main storyline.
