How to Play 101 Okey Vip Offline
Okey 101 is played in multiple rounds with four players. The goal? Accumulate as few points as possible by the end of the game. The player with the lowest score wins. Points are calculated based on the numbers on leftover tiles. The game concludes when there are no more tiles left to draw or when a player completes their hand.
Getting Started:
- A dealer is chosen, and 21 tiles are distributed to each player. The dealer gets an extra tile, leaving one open tile to determine the joker (Okey piece).
- The game proceeds counterclockwise, starting with the player to the right of the dealer. Players either draw from the deck or take the last tile played.
- Once a player reaches 101 points, they can open their hand by laying down sets on the table.
- Players must throw a tile on the table to end their turn, even after opening their hand.
Joker (Okey Stone):
The joker changes every game. Two joker tiles represent the number one higher than the face-up tile. Jokers are visually distinct and valued accordingly. For instance, if the joker is a blue 5, the jokers become blue 6s.
Dealing and Showing Hands:
To open a hand, players must form at least three sets of matching tiles or accumulate five pairs. Each set must contain at least three tiles. Players can continue adding tiles to existing sets throughout the game.
Doubles:
An alternative way to open a hand is by forming five pairs. Once a player goes double, they cannot form regular sets but can still add tiles to others' sets.
